Brendan Radford

Australian Artist, Musician, Songwriter and Music Producer

Hi all

Hoping all is well in your world, wherever that may be.

I’m very excited to have released new music for October 2024.

The first is a new single entitled ‘EJ’ which shares a story about my granddad, Elijah James Radford, a Ganger with Queensland Rail in the 1940s. EJ is a pretty special song to me as it’s based on fact gathered from Queensland Rail employee records along with recollections of conversations with my Dad.

The song is available on all the usual digital platforms and there is also a video on my youtube channel at: https://youtu.be/gmucSXh2vI0?si=9HS6oH3QP0rPuBdK

The second release is an evocative instrumental collaboration with my good mate Lindsay Waddington, called The Red Centre. Again check it out where you usually listen to your music and also check out the video at:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4w7LHnjMns

Keep an eye out for more new music before the year’s end. And please like, subscribe and leave a comment! All your feedback is super helpful.

The year began with the Tamworth Country Music Festival. The festival culminates in the Country Music Association of Australia’s Golden Guitar Awards and it was once again such a privilege to be trusted to lead the band backing so many gifted performers and musicians. Special thanks to the brilliant Golden Guitars House Band of Bill Risby, Mitch Farmer, Duncan Toombs, Michael Muchow, Clare O’Meara, Michel Rose and James Gillard for such beautiful playing; you make my job easy! Extra congratulations to Duncan who took away Golden Guitars for Video of the Year and Heritage Song of the Year.

I am still working on that elusive second album and I did manage to get an instrumental released and nominated in the Golden Guitars Top 5 for Instrumental of the Year. It’s called Betoota Stomp and you can check it out here. Congratulations to all the finalists and my friends Liam and Gaby – Wicker Suite, who were deserved winners.

There were a lot of highlights in 2023.

Touring and recording with John Williamson throughout the year.

Being invited to accompany Sara Storer on Song Circle, playing alongside some of my musical heroes.

Playing music for many of my favourite artists and friends on Cruising Country in December.

Playing and singing on Brain Cadd’s new album .

I’m looking forward to what the rest of 2024 will bring. All the best and I look forward to catching up with you in the near future.

Brendan
